I was the one in the family who was always taking photos at family dinners and events (which may explain why I'm not in very many of the photos!). My LOVE for photography developed at a very early age when I used to sit for hours and look at pictures and snapshots. One of my earliest memories is of laying on my grandmother's bed and studying all the framed photographs on the wall above her bed. Even then, I knew the importance of photographs and I felt a need in my gut to make sure we always had pictures.

I've been doing photography professionally for 8+ years. The first few years was self taught after which I started working in a well known portrait studio where I received hands on learning that really boosted my knowledge of the subject. After leaving there and pursuing a degree in Business (and US History), I continued to further my education and understanding of photography.

My PASSION for photography really came into play when I began to develop my own personal style that soon blossomed into my business- Michelle Alvarez Photography. My goal is and has always been to create beautiful images for my clients, friends, and family; photos that can be proudly hung and displayed on the walls in their home; photos that will bring a smile to their faces and become as treasured as the photos that hung on my grandmother's wall.
